Shower door repair and replacement
Sagging, sticking, leaking or cracked. Sometimes a repair fixes it; sometimes a replacement is the better call.
Common problems
Shower doors wear out. Rollers on sliding doors wear down, hinges loosen, seals and sweeps harden or fall off, and hard water can leave stubborn deposits on glass and hardware.
A door that is dropping, dragging or leaking at the edges can often be fixed by replacing worn parts, and this can be less expensive than replacing the whole door.
When to replace
If the glass is cracked or chipped, or if the frame is corroded or bent, replacement is usually the safer choice. Chipped edges on tempered glass can weaken it. If the door is very old, matching parts may also be hard to find.

Common questions
My glass shattered on its own. Is that normal?
Tempered glass can occasionally break without an obvious cause, often because of damage at an edge. Treat broken glass carefully and avoid walking barefoot near it.
Can hard water stains be removed?
Light deposits often come off with a suitable glass cleaner. Long-term etching cannot always be reversed. Regular wiping after showers helps prevent it.
